The baby, the dog, and the cat seem to think they're all related. And sleep in a puppy pile.

I'm about to exorcise this fucking dog. It's clearly posessed. Brice.

I am not freaking out. Because I know, with every confidence, that there's no one more capable of taking care of themselves than my brother.

2009. Any bets on if it's going to be weirder?

Brian understands what Christmas is now, finally.
Well. Understands in the sense he knows he's getting presents. Not in the sense of the Christ child mass, etc.
I think he's volunteering in a soup kitchen on Christmas eve.

I don't know which is more annoying. That my two year old thinks he can emotionally manipulate me or that he actually can. In related news I'm staying home today and working from the couch under a blanket with Blues Clues on.

I have a toddler just getting over a cold. This? So not a good day to be a lego.

It's September. A distant part of my brain is insisting that it shouldn't be this warm still. And yet. Taking Brian to the beach to enjoy the warm gulf water.

I think Douglas and Brian are plotting against me. Brian keeps whispering in the cat's ear and giggling while the cat purrs and both of them look at me.

At some point, Meredith had gotten used to the notion that his life was weird. He wasn't sure, exactly when it was. Maybe when his hypothetical child from another universe with a woman he'd been married to in an alternate reality had come and played dominoes with his 2 1/2 year old.
Since then he'd put his foster parent's home up for rent, moved the rest of his and Brian's things into Brice's home and. Made a home.
He and Brice went to the same office each morning, shared the same practice. Came home to the same house, ate the same meal, split the cooking, the cleaning, the bills. Spent time with Meredith's brother and Brice's son. Worked, slept, and breathed in Brice's space. It was familiar and not, all at once.
Meredith leaned against the door frame of Brian's room, watching his son sleep through the wedge of light admitted into the dark room from the hallway behind him. He closed his eyes, exhaled, then wandered down the hall in his boxers, clicking off the light before climbing into bed with Brice.
He didn't wrap around the other man. He didn't reach out. He just felt Brice's warmth beside him and that was more than enough. He could hear Brion's breathing and he was close enough to keep his king safe.

Brian can stop being scared of thunderstorms about, oh. Last week. I'm scheduling his naps around the weather.
